Bellwether Community Credit Union (BCCU), a not-for-profit financial institution, has donated $10,000 to the Manchester Community Music School, a not-for-profit organization that provides quality music instruction and performance opportunities for students of all ages. The donation will contribute to Manchester Community Music School?s support of the community?s artistic development through in-depth music education and need-based financial aid programs.
Manchester Community Music School serves over 1,200 students from fifty-four New Hampshire communities each year through music lessons and ensembles for all ages. Students can participate in four orchestras, a jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, concert band, community band, after-school programs and summer music camps. In addition, the Manchester Community Music School also offers early childhood classes and Suzuki violin, piano and flute lessons which teach young children to play an instrument in the same way that they learn their own language by listening, absorbing and copying.
In 2006, the Manchester Community Music School founded its Music Therapy Program. In partnership with 18 area agencies and schools, the Manchester Community Music School offers music therapy sessions to children and adults with special needs. To date, the Music School has served over 1,500 students who are faced with mental health challenges, traumatic brain injury and many who have autism spectrum disorder.?
?This generous gift of $10,000 from Bellwether Community Credit Union will support the Music School?s mission of changing lives through the power of learning, sharing and making music by making music education more accessible to the neediest children in our community,? said Jeanine Tousignant, CEO of Manchester Community Music School.
?Manchester Community Music School has been enhancing student?s enjoyment and appreciation of music for almost thirty years,? explained Michael L?Ecuyer, President/CEO of Bellwether Community Credit Union. ?Bellwether Community Credit Union is proud to support the Manchester Community Music School because they support and inspire the artistic development of our whole community.?
